As we move at full speed into a new era of technology-driven and social media connected communications, the great challenge we face is how to adapt and make the most of new opportunities. In 2016 Swinburne will offer a revamped Bachelor of Media and Communications with a range of majors that aim to prepare students for this challenge. The fast evolving media environment and new professional and industry opportunities have informed this renewal process.

Anthony McCosker and Diana Bossio have organised a public forum to consider the changes, challenges and opportunities across our diverse media and communications industries. The forum, “Change and opportunity in the media industries: new communication environments, connections and disruptions” is open to all staff, students, alumni and general public. The panellists include: Jason Laird, Chief of Social at Telstra, Isabelle Oderberg, Head of Social at Red Cross Australia and Ben Shapira, a digital marketing consultant, as well as representatives from news and entertainment.
