The Australian Unity ‘Rathdowne Residents’ is a professional project aimed at writers and videographers interested in profile writing.
The Australian Unity assisted living centre on Rathdowne Street in Carlton is home to some of Victoria’s most interesting and accomplished seniors – but no one knows their fantastic life stories. Diana Bossio is leading a project to profile the residents at Rathdowne Street and provide them and their families with a quality media production documenting their life story.
The profile will be published on a website as well as given in hard copy to the resident. The written profiles will be published in a book at the end of the year. You will also be invited to attend a premiere of the profiles at Rathdowne street.
The students would need to commit to visiting Rathdowne street in Carlton at least three times to complete the interviews and once before interviews to complete Safety training. Students will also need to complete police checks, though these will be paid for by the university.
Interested students should contact Diana Bossio – firstname.lastname@example.org – by the end of week one.
