Swinburne Journalism is looking for a student to co-ordinate the multi-media content and social media content for Swinburne online publication, The Standard.
This position is a great introduction to online media publishing and a fantastic opportunity for media and communications students to practise their writing, audio and video editing skills they have learnt in their course as well as gain experience in marketing an online publication through social media platforms.
The role will run for a semester and will include (but not be limited to) the following responsibilities:
- prepare journalism audio and video content for publication on the website (this includes minor editing, summarising and loading multimedia stories); and
- promote news stories published on the Standard site through Swin Journalism Twitter and Facebook accounts.
The number of hours required per week is negotiable depending on the student’s other study and work requirements. Much of the work can be completed off-campus but the student will also be required to attend campus for regular meetings to discuss tasks and receive feedback.
Interested applicants should apply to Lucy Kent, The Standard Multi-media editor by Friday 18th March by email firstname.lastname@example.org.
To be considered for this internship position, your application must include a cover letter detailing your studies to date, relevant experience why you would be suitable for the position as well as a current CV.
The successful applicant will report directly to Lucy Kent, The Standard Multi-media editor and to Larry Schwarz, The Standard Editor.
