Andrew Lowenthal is the Co-founder and Director of EngageMedia, an Asia-Pacific human rights and environmental non-profit exploring the intersection of video, technology and social change. His work traverses non-profit leadership and development, video distribution and social impact, documentary network building, research, and software development.
He was previously a fellow at Harvard’s Film Studies Center and Berkman Center for Internet and Society, and a fellow at MIT’s Open Documentary Lab. From 2006-08 he worked with the Tactical Technology Collective as their Participatory Media Project Lead, and was active in the Indymedia network in the early to mid 2000s.
