MDA30010 – Audio Narratives

Storytelling is a powerful and essential part of the radio landscape. Audio Narratives (MDA30010) follows on from MDA30009 – Radio, Audio and Podcasting, expanding on the audio basics and focusing on the development and production of a long form audio documentary. You will learn about constructing an audio narrative for radio and how to use various audio elements including sound effects and music to enhance the final production. You will listen to and analyse a number of award-winning radio documentaries. You will also be encouraged to explore your creativity and engage with advanced audio production techniques in producing a high quality radio documentary. Previous students’ work has received airplay on community radio and ABC Radio National. Work in this subject will create a strong audio production component for any media portfolio.
